Hybrid vs Electric Car Servicing: What's Different?

4 min read

A hybrid still has an engine, so it needs oil, filters and the usual checks — plus battery and inverter cooling checks the petrol equivalent does not have.

A full electric car has no oil or exhaust, but it still needs brakes, tyres, suspension, cabin filters, brake fluid and coolant looking after. Regenerative braking means pads last longer but can seize if they are never inspected.

Our technicians are EV-trained and insured — see what each service covers on our electric and hybrid page.

Having an independent garage service your EV does not affect the manufacturer's battery warranty.
