A slipping clutch shows itself as revs rising without the car speeding up, especially in higher gears or up hills. A biting point that has crept high, judder when pulling away, or a burning smell are all warning signs.
Clutch work is labour-heavy because the gearbox has to come out, which is why catching it early and driving gently in the meantime helps.
Our clutch repairs page explains the job, the typical price range and how long we need the car for.
We will always road test the car with you first so we are sure the clutch is the problem.
